How long should lenses last
Comments

I've never had any scratches or coating problems on my lenses. They all have no reflective coating and anti-scratch and most of them have tints. The pair I'm wearing is about 4 years old but a couple of my prescription sunglasses are 12 years old and unmarked.0

I mentioned the coating coming off my lenses to an optician a few years ago when ordering yet more glasses and she told me to stop leaving them in the bathroom when I had a hot shower as the change of temperature and humidity speeded up the process.
I stopped (well mostly when I remember) and I'm convinced my lenses are lasting well although my husband reckons the optician was talking nonsense.
Was she right?0 -
I wonder if I could steam them to get the remaining coating off0
