Prepay cards

Is there a list somewhere on this site of the various prepay cards so that I can compare them? I've found a couple of bits about them in general and the name of one but no more.
My friend has one which he can top up at the post office but he says it's a real pain because they can't just swipe it, they have to key the number in.

Orange cardcash has contactless technology.. Contactless is daft to me. Anyone with a machine can take funds without you knowing.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Does anyone know if I can pay a Prepaid card into a NS&I savings account and is it fee free..?0

I know what you mean about pre-pais cards as I am also doing the research. It seems that some of them even offer rewards if you use their cards or website links to make purchases and another offers money management so it will put aside money to cover bills so you don't spend it on other stuff - such a good idea at this time of the year especially.0

Kalixa card deal is good but there are some out there that you don't need to pay anything for. The Ffrees Family card account is one of them and they offer cash rewards when you spend your card on certain sites, provided you use the links from their website. Its a win win situation if you ask me!0

I've marked DHSpiderman's as spam, since I strongly suspect they're after referral money, but just in case anyone is curious, the card he is referring to isn't totally free, there is a £2/month charge unless one tops up by >£100 (which can only be withdrawn via spending, or by paying a £0.75 ATM withdrawal fee).
AFAICT, the extra cashback offered is mainly topcashback-style stuff, with a few in-store cashback offers sprinkled in.0 -

Sorry for late reply, but I think a really good pre-paid card is the PS (public service) Cashback Card which was known as NHS Discounts. You have to work for the NHS to get one, and there is no monthly fee and no charge to use it. I don't think you can withdraw cash at an ATM though. You do get cashback on certain transactions including instore. I've had it for a few years and its worked well for me. I put a few pounds in each month at the moment (and use it towards the end of the month) but going to start using it for our monthly food shopping and have just ordered an additional card. I've also ordered a FFREE card - seems very similar but you can take cash out of an ATM for a 75p charge, and as long as you pay in £100 each month there is no charge. Hopefully will be just as useful as am fed up with OH not paying attention to spending.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
