Entry is restricted to one per person.

To enter this competition, participants must write a recipe for a traditional British soup and submit their entry to www.telegraph.co.uk/crosseandblackwell. The recipe must be sufficient to feed a family of four and include a full list of ingredients and preparation instructions. The main, leading ingredients must be able to be sourced in Britain. Recipes must not contain fish or seafood products. Once submitted, the Promoter cannot accept any amends to any part of an entry. 4. All entries must be received by 23:59 on Tuesday, December 31, 2013.

5. The winner will receive a [2 night weekend break in the UK up to the value of £500] and their winning recipe may be developed by Princes Limited for production and sale in the UK. Princes Limited makes no representation or warranty that the winning soup recipe will be produced for sale; nor as to the length of any production time, and may in its absolute discretion cease production of the recipe at any time. In the event that the recipe is later brought back into production, paragraph 8 below will apply to such production.

6. All entries submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that their entry does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.
7. With the exception of the winning entrant (see Condition 7, below), copyright in all entries submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Telegraph Media Group Limited and Princes Limited to feature any or all of the submitted entries in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition. Entrants will not receive remittance for such publication, though their work will be credited.
