I'm considering buying this All In One printer and wanted a little bit of advice.
Firstly, does anyone have one and can give me any feedback?
Secondly, on the specifications tab, it talks about USB connections USB cable in 'Minimum system requirements'
Intel® Pentium® II, Celeron®, or compatible processor (Pentium® III or higher recommended); 128 MB RAM (Windows® 2000, Me, XP Home, XP Professional; 256 MB or higher recommended); 475 MB available hard disk space; SVGA 800 x 600 monitor with 16-bit colour; Windows® 2000 (SP3 or higher), Me, XP Home, XP Professional; Internet Explorer 5.01 (SP2 or higher); CD-ROM drive; available USB port and USB cable for direct connection; Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 5 or higher recommended; Internet access recommended
But in the box comes no mention of a USB anything:
HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One, HP 21 Black Inkjet Print Cartridge (5 ml) C9351AE, HP 22 Tri-colour Inkjet Print Cartridge, (5 ml) C9352AE, HP Photosmart Essential Software, HP Photosmart Express, setup guide, basics guide, power supply, power cord.
Is this a problem for me and something I need to go and buy? I have a spare USB port to plug anything into.
Basically, I can get this for £30, but won't if I have to go and buy extra's elsewhere, so want this to work from what is in the box.
The cartridges are cheaper for HP than a Lexmark that i've had before, so fancy a change.
Thanks for any advice that may be given.

Hi Miroslav
Don't worry, you cannot go wrong with HP. I have been buying HP printers for businesses for over 20 years, they are great.
As for the USB question. Printers used to come with 2 connectors, USB and the older Parallel connection. This printer only has a USB connection. You will need to buy a usb cable though (unless you already have one) as USB cables are never included in the package.Comping 2008 wins £4842 2009 wins £950.50 2010 Wins £140 2011 £00 -

Thanks Phil.
This is only for rare personal use and thought £30 was very reasonable considering Lexmark is the same price, ink cartridges are more expensive and i've had bad Lexmark experiences.
USB cables - How much? I googled and seen from £1.25 to £14.99!
What one will I need? The printer will be literally 2 feet from the USB port on my PC.
Thanks0 -
^^^^ sometimes you can pick the cables up in poundland type stores, thats what I am using and it is fine0

Thanks. I was envisaging lots of money0

One more question before I buy:
My PC is quite old, so is not USB 2.0 compatible.
Will I also have to buy a USB 2.0 converter to allow this to work, or will I get away with it on my old machine?
Thanks0 -
Hi Miroslav
If you are ordering from HP they sell the cables for £5
It will still work with USB 1.0 without additional hardware but it will message you every now and then to say it will work faster on USB 2Comping 2008 wins £4842 2009 wins £950.50 2010 Wins £140 2011 £00 -

Thanks.
I'm not buying direct from HP, so will look elsewhere for one.
If it works with USB 1.0, that'll do me as won't be using too often anyway.
Thanks again.0
