What is on your crafting wish list?

Options
On another thread, The Cre8tor typed that she had a crafting wish list, currently a page and a half long.

I know many of you are stash busting, but if you weren't, and money was no object, what would you buy?

I'd like the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear deluxe set, more dies, lots of distress ink pads and a room big enough to put loads of those brightly coloured craft drawers that I've seen in Hobbycraft. I think they have about 11 drawers in them and I think they would be good to hold wooden stamps, ink pads etc. No routing (sp?) to the bottom of deeper drawers to find anything.

I'd love to go to America. (there's no chance of that as I'd get claustrophobic on a plane!) I'd love to visit their craft stores and thrift stores. Then I'd prob. have a cry that I couldn't fetch all my finds back with me. :D

  • I would just like enough money to build a conservatory capable of being used as a craft room..............

I'll come with you! I watch a lot of American craft hauls on YouTube and it amazes me how many craft stores they have there and how cheap they are. It seems that everyone I watch has 3 or 4 big craft stores near them. Sometimes I want to punch the screen when they say, "here is a Tim Holtz stamp I got for a dollar in the sale" - grrr!

I would love a craft room with loads of shelves etc.

I would love the £4000 embroidery machine I drooled over in John Lewis.

I have always wanted one of those really expensive die-cut machines. I have a cheap hand-cranked one, but would love one of those whizzy digital ones you load cartridges into.

I would absolutely love a little kiln so I can take my jewellery making to a new level.

If I ever wrote out my craft wish list it would take up a whole notebook!

Something I need right now is a fabric pen (vanishing pen?) that I can use to transfer or trace patterns onto fabric with, but that easily washes out or irons off? I ordered a fabric pencil recently and it was no use so I think it's a pen that I need. Not really sure what I'm looking for, to be honest or where to get one from!

On my 'in my dreams..' wishlist would be a new sewing machine, maybe a Janone :)

  • I have a really, really long one, all of which are achievable things to save/ask for, but top 5
    1. A nice printer complete with paper and ink, I do some photo editing and would also like to be able to print nice papers for origami, labels.....also would be so convenient for uni and vouchers...:) (currently saving for)
    2. Mini Hama beads and boards (I've always loved Hama beads and the little ones are awesome for making pictures etc. with, I should know, I've watched a million videos) (Hoping to get as Christmas present)
    3. Mini drill-sander, like a dremel or something, would be really nice for everything.
    4. Craftseller, or other magazine subscription, I'm pretty broke, I have a max £10 luxury budget each month, and if any other budget, like the present budget goes over, it just gets eaten up, also sometimes I want more craft supplies, or the bills are more expensive, or I go somewhere with flatmates.......So it would be really awesome to have a nice magazine each month to add to my collection. (Don't spend all year on the mainland....so not actually that practical, but still really want)
5: Moulds, I quite like painting things and decoupage, but am not terribly good at either, plaster of paris is pretty cheap, but stuff ready to decorate isn't particularly and I'd really like to have some more variety.....

I recently bought a replacement vanishing pen from Dunelm if there is a store near you. Good price

    :o ... it's now currently running at 3 pages.
    Hello my name is Cre8tor, and I'm a Craft-o-holic. :o
I'm seriously embarrassed about my list, -- but no so much that I don't keep reading it OUT LOUD - whilst telling everybody that I'm "only reading allowed so that I can remember things I've got on the list". (yeah, like that's the truth!)

I managed to get those a couple of years ago when I added a little money to a gift voucher for Hobbycraft which I received for my birthday. I love them. I remember what's in them by the colours of the drawers.

Get them Battyb. You won't be disappointed. ;)

    One week.
Seven pairs of unders. Three pairs of trousers. Seven t.shirts and two cardigans. The rest of the case is empty, so that we can fill it up with crafty goodies which we can't buy here in the UK.

We should all start a fund to save for this week away. All of us together - holding your hands Battyb, along with a session of hypnosis - it would be a doddle. Aw boy! Just think of the fun we'd have!!
<sings inside her head: 'heaven, I'm in heaven, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak. And I seem to find the happiness I seek, When we're craft buying in America for one week!' ... sigh>

Encouraged by the bargain which Battybird found back in October (see the 'Crafty Bargains of the Day thread), for Ranger Melting Pots, I bought one and have been buying the odd bit of this and that every now and again so that I could have a decent play with it. I finally tried it out about three or four days ago and I LOVE IT. I've done nothing else in my craft room since. I just keep wandering in there and turning it on, just to have a play and do nothing else.
(I should be making Christmas cards - but this melting pot is so addictive. It calls to me, like some witchety spell it casts. It's the most amazing bit of equipment, and yet so simple.

I highly recommend these melting pots.
(Still thanking Battyb every time I use it. If it hadn't have been for her I would still be longing for one. Thank you Batty.)

**Your pencil may be useful as an iron - on crayon perhaps? Trace your design, turn it over and use your pencil on the back, go over all the lines then iron on to your fabric.
