If you just use the headphone output on the TV that will mute the TV speakers so you won't be able to hear anything. You will need to use another audio output to feed either the headphones or another set of speakers.

Unless if course there is a setting within the TV which allows hp op and speaker op to be on simultaneously.

Googler thanks but I'm having to push the wheel chair around from room to room.

...and your partner listens to the TV in more than one room? Sorry, I'm still not getting why a wireless solution is the only one that's appropriate.

We really want to help, but if you're going to feed us the facts in dribs and drabs.

Tell us what your requirements are, along with the circumstances in which you both want to listen. Not what type of solution you think you need, not what you think the solution is, but the core requirements and the environment.

The tv's have the radio channels by using Humax, and are in other rooms as well, so it will be convenient to have wifi. Thanks.

If anybody is interested I bought these headphones below for my partner after consulting Action for hearing loss.
There are no encoding or decoding delays that are associated with Bluetooth devices. Thanks for everyones help.
