Before anyone points me to pavingexpert.com I have already signed up to the forum but it will not allow me to post comments or threads :-(
I know pretty much what I need to do but the main thing is, can I put the sub-base down now and leave it for a few months before I put the sand and paving down?
It's just that I want to get things moving. I have dug out and area and I can order a skip this weekend to move the stuff from site (my back garden).
Thoughts please.
Thanks,
C
PS I'm laying a patio

Yep - go ahead - whack it down and it'll be rock solid after it weathers for a few months.

Great. Just what I was wanting to hear!0

I would probably whack it again the day you lay the top layer.0

As above a good MOT grade 1, whack it down and you are fine to leave it for a few months. Also as mentioned above a good whack down again just prior to you doing the block paving."I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0

My only concern, drainage, you are going to have puddles for a long time.0

You wont have puddles, sub base is porous.

Oh, that doesn't sound too good0 -
Anybody know how much a Block Paving provider charges per square metre to put down block paving ? We have gravel down at the moment on the actual garden which needs lifting and transferring to our back garden but the area is approx. 20ft x 20ft ?0
