I have unearthed certificates for 1500 Granada TV shares but can't find any info online about what they might be worth or which co. they might now come under. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

Granada took over Carlton in December 2003, and the new company is called ITV plc. Granada shares were converted to ITV shares on a 1:1 basis.
ITV shares are currently trading at £1.89.
I believe Granada shareholders also received a cash payout at the time of the takeover, and if your shares were not sold then dividends should also have been paid.
