    DebtMonkey -
Was the registered keeper of the car also the driver on the day? If different - the clock can be re-set by naming and providing address.

Regardless of what you do about about Debt Recovery/minster - you should be making a complaint to the hospital.

You were attending hospital for treatment of your girlfriend's mental health needs. Therefore you are covered by the Equality Act for reasonable adjustments to be made by the service providers (this will be both the hospital and the PPC).

Write a formal letter of complaint to the hospital - PALS and the Trust Headquarters demanding that they instruct the PPC to cancel this charge:

    Letter to hospital:

    Dear Sir,

We are writing to make a formal complaint about the treatment we are now experiencing as a direct consequence of parking in your hospital .

On the ........................... an appointment for my girlfriend's psychiatrist over-ran and we did not realise that the parking time had expired. As a direct consequence of this I am now receiving a number of threatening debt collector letters which is having an adverse affect on my girlfriend's mental health.

As a service user we are appalled at the treatment we are now experiencing by your appointed car parking management team. I would like to point out that under the Equality Act 2010 reasonable adjustments must be made when providing services.

I am sure that I do not have to remind you of all your legal responsibillities under this Act nor the fact that you are responsible for any third party contractors on your site.

I respectfully request therefore that you instruct your car parking company Minster Baywatch to withdraw this parking chargewhich should be confirmed in writing.

    Yours faithfully

    :)

  • yes-was the registered keeper. Its an outpatients mental health services building-not a hospital. Also-had no change for a ticket so no ticket bought as g/f was ill & running late.

Coupon-mad-again-apologies for my post as well ! You do FAB work on here. Guys-thanks for all the advice-but think will just ignore & if gets to court stage worry about it them. I've a lot of other stuff going on (thankfully g/f is now in remisssion). Thanks all.

    Minster Baywatch is 'the creditor'
That lot do try small claims sometimes, (as already pointed out) so I hope you are keeping all the letters in a file at the very least, as you have decided not to choose the 'robustly respond' approach outlined in the NEWBIES sticky.

Certainly respond if you get a Letter before Claim from MB themselves.

    Morning coupon-mad,

Sorry-wrote this in a bit of a hurry. The post is not to negate in any way your BRILLIANT advice to the newbies....just wanted to keep the thread updated in case the info i put was of use. Of course if MB do issue a claim will change tack. Again-thanks for the advice/help.
