Need new scanner for windows 7 professional pc

I had a perfectly good scanner which I kept to use with my old XP pc when I upgraded to a new pc running windows 7 pro. Somewhere along the way subsequent auto upgrades to XP and the scanner software hit a road block and now it does not work correctly and I have to get a new one.
Any suggestions, ideally with some function rich scanning software included?.

Can you not install the scanner software in Compatibility Mode for XP? (Right-click the installer EXE file and check the Compatibility tab under Properties).0

I bought this Epson Perfection V37 scanner when I upgraded from XP to Win7.
I've been very pleased with its reliability and image quality. You get the usual Epson software supplied which provides for various levels of usage from 'Auto' to 'Mix your own recipe'. Very good value IMHO.
