The keeping up with the Joneses element of everything is depressing when it comes to kids. Still remember someone on here who'd taken out a loan he couldn't afford to buy a 3DTV solely so his kid could have something to talk about at school.
Regardless of the sanity or otherwise of doing that, it's depressing that the thought even crossed his mind.urs sinserly,

Age 2 - family only at home, 10 people, £20. A few balloons, paper plates etc and everything else was food
Age 3 - same as above
Age 4 - £75, 12 kids, church hall £40, party bags £10, food and tableware £25
Age 5 - £150, 45 kids, Guide hut £60, activities £40, party bags £25, food and tableware £25
Age 6 - £220, 20 kids, Guide hut £60, entertainment (exotic animal rescue) £100, party bags £20, food and tableware £20
Age 7 - £56, 4 kids, lounge £free, DVD £10, party bags £6 (cheap DVD each), helium and balloons £20, food and tableware £20
I save a lot by doing all the food and cake myself. Not sure what we are doing next year, but thinking my child and 1 friend and go out somewhere. Possibly meal, cinema, ice skating or similar Or possibly 3 friends for a sleepover.Zebras rock0 -
