Job seekers question

Hi,
My son has just finished college and is now looking for a full time job (currently working 15hrs).
He is 18 on 6th December but his child benefit runs on until 9th December.
Can he put in a claim for job seekers on his birthday or does he need to wait until the 9th when his child benefit ends ?
Thanks in advance

Also how much does he get paid? If its over the JSA limit he won't be able to claim anyway.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0
