When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

Good Moooooorrrrrmnnninnng Friends,
New week, let's really make it count on the money saving & getting organised front. Am raring to go this morning.
On today's list:
-Laundry overnight on Economy 7. Done.
-Phone charged on Economy 7. Done.
-Bed linen changed & loaded into washer for another cheap wash tonight. Done.
-Share bath water. Done
-Wash hair using the products I was sent to test, & leave it to dry naturally. Done
-Hang laundry on heated airer ready to switch on tonight on cheap tariff.
-See if bin-men have been & try to get rest of bin bags from clearing out shed in bin, which will save on petrol driving to the tip.
-Have final check of pantry for signs of mouse. If nothing, finish cleaning it thoroughly & put food stores back.
-Meals as per meal plans - roast pheasant with the braised red cabbage I batch-cooked last week.
-Update grocery & personal spends budgets.
-Make tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast (early start for Mr f.....don't want him caving in to the lure of bacon rolls :-)
-Wrap 3 eBay parcels.
-Start wrapping Christmas presents, for which I'll mostly be using recycled paper, ribbons & tags.
-Make a list of everything I could usefully do tomorrow when I will have the car.
-Carry on knitting sock. Aiming to finish both that & scarf this week.
-Think about Christmas baking.....this might turn into a list tomorrow.
-Go outside & water Christmas tree thoroughly. I don't want it carking it at this stage in the season.
-If time, check for surveys, but no more internet time planned today until list is done.
Wishing everyone a good start to a positive & productive week,
F x

Happy Monday all
Chaos today already! I've slept in, had to pick little brother up to look after DD2 and her pox, next up it's school run for other 3 then quick trip to dole office so he can sign on then into the office by 11! This chicken pox lark is hard work! I've also got to pick DS2 up by 5.30 too and all on my busiest day of the month at work!
However, none of the above will stop me from continuing on my debt free journey and might just help. Today's plan...
Check bank
Charge phone at work
Use shortest driving routes
Take lunch and chocolate to work
NO visit to Costa at work - two types of teabags are in my locker
Dinner from stores
Organise to work from home tomorrow
Heating off (little bro will use fire in lounge)
Grab half an hour for myself and just breathe at some point
NSD
Wrap ebay sales
I'm thinking that'll keep me busy, especially as I need to fit 10 hours work into 6!
Have a great day all

Morning everyone :0)
On the second day of Christmas is a Jack in the box in my little advent tree.
I have had the advent tree a few years. It is 15 inches high, including music box stand. The tree plays a cheery Merry Christmas. The base has 24 drawers for the tree ornaments and i add 1 to the tree each day.
BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE.
THe weather man reports a dry, dull day. DRY is good as I have x2 lots of washing for the machine and line.

Happy Monday lovely peoples
To start the week off right, I've got my head firmly in the froogle zone. Today Im going to/have done:
1. Checked my accounts against my budget tools, theres a .92p discrepancy , going to find out what happened there.
2. Im here, keeping motivated to give my finances the proper respect and energy they need.
3. Cooked all food for today, except will need some more bread, tomatos and envelopes. So theres goes 1 SFD (Im a bit OCD about those, but in a good way)
4. Practised my guitar.
5. Going to meditate.
6. Going to take the sooper pooch out for a walk later on.
7. Getting all my financial spreadsheets organsied.
8. Going to get MNM xmas gifts (just some small token gifts, not a big buy this year, luckily theres nothing major either of us want).
9. Get a dental appointment to register with new dentist.
10. Organsing my debt repayments.
11. Meditated.
12. Going to do some work on my anxiety issues, to help me eat and live more mindfully.
13. Going to have my no cost heating on later I think.
I think that is about it. Have a great day everyone.
Debt as of March 2018, £794 rent arrears £4273.7 debt, £900.70 in pay day loans, total £5968.40 . Total debt today £5968.40

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all ok & getting into the festive spirit! Thanks for starting us Ziggy.
I didn't end up posting last week as I was very busy getting things ready for DH's 30th birthday party on Friday after getting back from our fab hol to Berlin, this included making a 2 tier cake which went down very well! To think I was debating paying someone to do it instead...I hate being back to reality now but am thankful that we spent less than anticipated overall
Today's plan:-
- Making use of free water at work
- Staying in for my lunch break to avoid spending
- Food from stores
- Dinner from meal plan - Thai Green Curry
- Check birthday bingo
- Charge phone at work
- Check online banking & move funds around
- Enter some comps
- Do some surveys
- Declutter & flylady
- Heating on low, fleecey dressing gowns on
- Top up Sainsbugs gift card (5% discount)
- Create meal plan for the coming week & write a shopping list accordingly
- Make a list of everything I've bought for Xmas so I can work who I need to buy for still
- Decide last few xmas gifts to buy & work out how much money is left to put towards debt
- Update sig
- Start writing xmas cards so I can use 2nd class stamps
- Debate applying for another job (less money, more interesting work though)

Sig updated, it feels sooooo good to just have the 1 credit card now, & it's on 0% for a few months still so I know every penny we put towards it is paying it off :j That figure will drop very soon hopefully as well, providing I can stay sensible when it comes to these last few xmas presents & nothing important (like the car, boiler etc) breaks down!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57
