Morning everyone

Still dark, but forecast said it was going to be foggy here from the early hours of this morning, but doesn't look too bad at the moment. Not sure about the temperature but doesn't look like we've had a frost.

DH up and gone to work early, but not stupid early.

Lunch yesterday was roast lamb, roasties, mash, brussels, carrots, green beans, broccolli, peas, yorkshires and gravy - was delish. Have plenty of meat left to put in a pot of gravy to re-heat for another night - that's likely to be tomorrow night as hairdresser is coming. Tonight may well be bacon and mushroom risotto.

Was very lazy yesterday apart from prepping and cooking the lunch didn't really do anything - but was good to chill after the past week - hoping the next 1 is a little less stressful.

Back to work today for me - it will be busy as it's the beginning of the month - so customers will be moaning because they will have to queue to pay. At least it does make the day go quicker.

We had an extra visitor overnight, DD had been out for dinner with her young man and someone had jumped in front of a train and he could not get home, so he stayed here in the spare bed, he has just left with my OH to get the train, he seems like a nice lad from the little I saw of him.


Off to work for me today and its my OH's Birthday too, so presents will be done later on, dinner will either be summer in winter chicken or a takeaway, its a bit of a tradition here to have a TA on your Birthday, and I suspect OH will want a curry!


Got some ebay parcels to post later on, and I will put a wash on when I get in from work.

Good morning everyone :j

I'm sat here with my advent candle burning away as we forgot to put it on until an hour before bed last night so there is still a lot of wax to burn away before we reach the numbers . It's very festive lol.

The girls are running around getting their packed lunches organized, they are a bit behind this morning. I am keeping out of their way and just sat here listening to heart radio.

I had a lovely anniversary with a steak dinner cooked by hubby and a large box of chocs for afters. I shared them so I feel very virtuous but the scales are not being kind to me again. :eek: I shall be very strict now for the next couple of days and keep my fingers crossed.

I am staying in today to wait for deliveries. I really need to clean the house too as after the weekend, the rooms are looking a bit grim. Oh well, it will keep me occupied I suppose :rotfl:.

Morning!

Bit dull at the mo, sun supposed to make an appearance later. WM is on.
I'm going to clean the house this morning and then after work go for a walk with my friend. Her DIL has had a few health related problems recently but seems to be on the mend now so we will probably be back to walking first thing again soon.

It's all beginning to feel a bit festive to me now and I don't know whether it's that I've never noticed, but a lot of people seem to put their tree up on the 1st? Mine is always a couple of weeks before the 25th and it comes down on the 1st or 2nd depending on what we are doing.

I managed to make another sock creature yesterday, this time it was a cow. I am trying to make one for various members of the family for crimbo.

Morning all,

well, my mum was smiling all day yesterday - unusual for her - and we were last out, which as 4.30pm. As the party started at 9.30 am, I think she was glad to see us go so she could have a rest from talking .

The promised exam papers did not arrive Friday or Saturday so I was stuck in for the two days and missed the local Xmas market :mad:. I emailed last night so it will be on his screen first thing, hope to hear PDQ what has happened.

Today I'm stuck in again waiting - but there's lots of bits to sort out for tomorrow when my 'blitz' cleaner arrives to do the things I can't manage. The DSs helped move stuff up into the attic room, which won't be used this Christmas so has become a kind of repository of 'stuff' we need to make decisions on in January.

Oh well, on with the ironing

Morning all.

Ds is still ill, although not been sick, since late last night so hopefully he is over the worst of it, he just keeps burning up so lots of water, meds and plenty of rest for him today, DH woke this morning feeling sick so he is home too feeling sorry for himself, so looks like I'm nursemaid to them both today.

I've done the cleaning, wm is on with all bedding, just got the throws off the sofa to wash now as ds didnt get to the bucket in time yesterday, it does say dry clean only on the tags but I'm in 2 minds wether or not to risk popping them in the washer and hope for the best, I cannot really afford to have them dry cleaned so I'm just gonna have to do it.

I've Just booked an appointment with the dr for myself on friday, I'm convinced I have pcos and the more I think about it the more I think I've always had the symptoms but just brushed them off..I'm convinced this is why it took us so long to conceive our son .. so we shall see what he thinks on Friday.

Dinner was meant to be chicken supreme however I think it is only me who is able to eat so I think I'll save it till the end of the week and just have a bowl of soup or a sandwich today.

Hester I hope they do your appraisal and get that out of the way. When I was working, I used to literally worry myself sick at appraisal time.

Hoppy Birdday to JackieO's DD. Oh, and I hope the arm goes back to normal quickly – that sounds very uncomfortable indeed.

Amber went home yesterday afternoon; she was only here for two days, but we both absolutely fell in love with her. Sadly we won't be terribly likely to get her again; she has a "usual" host she goes to, who wasn't available this time, so we were the "back-up" option. But I've said she's always welcome here if her usual host can't do it for any reason.;)

Thirteen days dogless for us, then we get the Hairy Hooligans for a two-night stopover. I must get Cassie's "dinner table" off the top of the wardrobe before they arrive - she has her dish placed on to of an upturned cardboard box.:o

Mr LW has been twitting on about Yule decs - tbh I really and truly cba, but he'll keep on til I give in, so I shall take the line of least resistance.;) He's got Thursday 5th off - it's the last day of Annual Leave to use up, and also his birthday, so maybe do them then. For sure, he can do the clambering about on the step-stool to put stuff up high.;) He can get on and do the Yule cards, too - he gets to do them because I can't hold a pen very well, and certainly can't write legibly after the first few minutes.:cool:

Anyone else notice that their card list gets shorter year on year?:think:

Anyways, I'm waiting with increasing trepidation for 1) the plumber to come and fix the loo, which isn't operating correctly since he replaced the flush mechanism (this'll be under guarantee, so at least it won't cost), and 2) Mr LW's new phone to be delivered - he's managed to get a better deal with more minutes for less money,:money: and a nice handset (if you like touchscreens, which I do not).

Scratch that - the phone arrived as I was typing!:D

Afternoon All,

Late start today after celebrating OH's birthday yesterday. Had a lovely meal with family and then went to social club last night with friends. Unknown to us one of them laid on nibbles for everyone and we stayed later than intended, but we all enjoyed it.

Think it will be simple meals for a day or two to balance our weekend of eating out.
