I notice on that Amazon page that the one person who has written a review has got their facts wrong- mixing up watts with volts.
    Japan is 100 VOLTS
    UK is 230 VOLTS
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

    That review wasn't showing yesterday.

I wonder if the OP is the author of that review? ;)

I doubt that, I mean, that would be a case of a person reading something on one website, misunderstanding it, then repeating it erroneously on another website. That would never happen.

As Albert Einstein* said "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing"

(*Einstein may not have said this at all, but if you're wanting to have an argument, it's always worth making up a quote and claiming he said it, most of the time the other person won't bother to check your source)

Zoob, why do you ask that?

It came from Japan, so probably neither.

If you are asking because of The Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994, remember it is the responsibility of the seller in the UK to conform.

In this case there is no seller in the UK.

I thought it was a reasonable question to ask, most products that are made in the far east come with a 3 pin plug if there for the uk market.

If it didn't have a UK 3 pin plug, how did the customer use the appliance?

Just thought id bring this thread to a close. I know its a bit overdue.

I did manage to get a no hassle refund they didn't ask for the maker back either.

That was me in the amazon review, i ment Volts just typed W instead of V.

    Thanks for the help/advice.
