Laptop stolen from bag of Brussels Airport coach

I've just returned from a weekend holiday in Brussels and have had my laptop stolen from within my backpack whilst on a Flibco (https://www.flibco.com) coach service from Brussels to Charleroi Airport.
I placed the bag in the coaches underneath storage and boarded the coach, on arrival at the airport I collected my bag and went straight through into Airport security and found to my horror that my laptop and charger was missing as I was going to put it through the scanner.
I immediately reported this to airport security who allowed me back through and to speak to Flibco office, they told me nothing was reported thus far handed in (can't imagine it being so as well as it wasn't loose, it was secured inside my backpack and clearly has been removed and bag zipped back up). They then said I needed to report it to the police so I sent and filed a report with them.
Apparently I have to provide the police number to Flibco and see what happens from there.
Does anyone know where I will stand on this, highly unlikely I'll get the laptop back which is actually a brand new work laptop (I now have the unenviable task of telling them what has happened on Tuesday morning when I'm back in, the joy of saying I have had a work laptop stolen whilst away on a personal holiday I can is not going to go down well)
I have no holiday insurance, but wonder what small chance their is on the coach operators having some sort of responsibility/insurance once the bags are placed in the hold and their staff watch over it.
Horrible end to a 5 year anniversary trip away.

I read in a recent news article that thieves are actually hiding in large suitcases, being placed in the boot of the coach and are climbing out in the journey to pilfer stuff from other luggage before being wheeled away by an accomplice at the other end of the journey.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Looks like terms and conditions on Flibco point to no liability for loss or theft from the storage area. Kind of what I expected.
I clearly had a sixth sense moment as well whilst sat on the coach, I looked up and thought my bag would of easily fitted in the above head storage where I could of seen it.0 -
No insurance, not looking good.
Hope you get a positive result out of the theft, thieving sods."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

I wouldn't be waiting until Tuesday to tell work, I would tell them asap in case of sensitivity of data.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

It is possible that your work has an insurance policy that covers it.0

so no guarantee this is any more than an urban myth.0 -
Never, ever let laptops or other similar items travel in the hold of a plane, or coach or anywhere on a train where you can't see it. In many cases even if you had insurance, they would not pay out. Lap top is the operative name and where you should keep it. A cheap Ryanair flight suddenly doesn't seem as cheap as before, and I hope you had permission to take the laptop on non work related travel abroad as that itself could lead to other employment issues! Good luck!0
