wrapping hampers

Options
I will be doing some hampers for the first time this year.

I have some shredded paper and cellophane to make them look pretty but am wondering how to wrap them, I am going to gather the cellophane at the top and tie a ribbon round so think putting paper over this will look odd. I don't have any boxes suitable.

I was thinking of wrapping the items themselves individually placing in the basket, putting the cellophane over and giving like that.

How does everyone else wrap their hampers? Would I be better just wrapping the cellophane round the basket flat so I can just put the paper on normally?

Comments

  • I've never wrapped a hamper but have received a few and they have always just been wrapped as a hamper not individually wrapped (but they have been boxed/in a basket)

If you are going to use the cellophane & ribbon idea I would wrap then individually like you said, rather than wrap the whole thing.

I'm doing hampers too for the first year :) I have no room in the hamper boxes for "stuffing" so was thinking of wrapping every item in the box and leaving the lid slightly open and wrapping in cellophane?

I've got three hampers to do so lots to wrap :)

It is down to personal choice how you choose to wrap your hamper.

For me, however, the benefit of using cellophane is that it does away with the need to individually wrap things within the hamper, and still gives a nice finish to the hamper.

Here is a pamper hamper I did for my sister last year using only cellophane for wrapping

that looks lovely springdreams did you give it to her like that or wrap it in something else as well? Also is it that material lining the bottom and sides? I was going to use shredded paper but yours looks much better. I also think it looks nicer than my idea of doing the cellophane up at the top, I take it you have sealed the cellophane on the bottom? Thanks again for posting, going change what I am doing now :)

    Thank you :)

I gave it to her just as you see it in the photo.

I lined the laundry basket that I used for the hamper with a purple bath towel as it was pamper themed.

I will be using a Christmas themed fleece blanket to line the Christmas themed hamper I am making for my DS.

I have indeed taped the cellophane closed at the bottom of the basket.

This thread has loads of photos of wrapped hampers

I gather the cellophane at the top when I wrap them, and then I do the same with wrapping paper. It does use up quite a lot of both though!
