Why did T-Mobile carry out five searches?

I recently applied for a new mobile phone contract with EE/T-Mobile.
After receiving my credit alert from Equifax to say there had been a change to my account, I logged in to find that they had carried out 5 searches - is this normal?
If not, what should I do?

5 searches is not normal, you need to complain so that they can remove it.Aqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/50

When you check your Equifax file, look specifically at the type of search. I would doubt that they carried out more than one full credit search. If there are more than one full search contact Equifax and they will remove it.
It's possible that EE/T-Mobile may have carried out a further generic/ unrecorded enquiries which won't harm your file. You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)0
