Insuring a smartphone > 2 years old

Hi all, I noticed the Insurance recommendation for Smartphones send out with the weekly MSE update this week, however when I go into the tip for Samsungs - Insurance2Go - they only insure phones less than 6 months old. I have had this with another provider also, and the problem is my Galaxy S2 is now over 2 years old.
Is there a company out there who'll insure a +2 yr old smartphone?

You can buy one for what it costs to insure it especially when you take any excess into account.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

As above. You'll struggle to insure an older phone primarily because they depreciate so fast, they're generally not worth insuring. A replacement to your GS2 can be bought brand new for about £160, reburb for around £110, or 2nd hand from ebay for about £50.
You may just as well stick a fiver a month aside to "self-insure".0 -
I bought a Galaxy S3 mini a few weeks ago for £199. My home insurance has an excess of £200. Even if I could claim, the insurers would then increase my premium and I'd have a claim on my record for years to come.
As the others say, put some money aside each month as a precaution.0
