Cat chasing ducks

Thank you all
I should have said I agreed for them to give him my details when I collect my cat from the cpl, as I assumed he'd want to get in touch about the problem.
He is microchipped as his sister and he came from the CPL last year. (Don't think he was too happy to be back there this weekend!)
I'm going to drop in tomorrow and test the water so to speak. The cpl did keep asking if my cat kept going missing and seemed a bit confused when I said no. He's rarely gone for more than a few hours so have a feeling it may not just be him. It was also mentioned that not all people are friendly to cats harrassing their animals and as a last resort maybe rehoming would be an option, which does make me worry that the cpl didn't find him very reasonable as meritaten suggested.
Keeping him in without a pen isn't really an option as he is very determined to be outside, and with 2 young children and shall we say 'helpful' grandparents who visit frequently he'll soon find a way to escape!
Will have a look at some pens just in case I think and, depending on how it goes tomorrow, maybe look into building one early next year when I can afford it.
Maybe I'll be lucky and it'll rain for a bit so he doesn't want to go out!0 -
My SIL has Chickens and Ducks,(free roaming in the garden. As well as a cat and a dog, they get along fine. Why would the cat harm the Chickens/Ducks. Its a wonder they don't gang up on the puddy cat and chase him away. You should see the antic's at SIL's its so funny to watch. Anyway I hope things go ok, good luck xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0

Ducks and chickens usually have their own methods of dealing with cats as chris n tj say!
my aunt kept chickens which roamed her garden and she had no problems with neighbouring pets. and there were lots of them! so I am wondering whether the neighbour is an 'arsssey' type?
as I pointed out previously - in Law, your cat is free to roam. YOU are not liable for any damage.
however, your neighbour should ensure his livestock are safe.
as a good neighbour you should of course do what you can within the bounds of the law. and good relationships with the neighbours!0
