My samsung remote control is failing. Either there is a battery connection problem or the on/off button is worn out. I don't know whether it is worth trying one of the above or not. I have seen one in curry's which claims to be ok with Samsung but it was out of stock today. I am generally suspicious about them.

Pound and cheapo shops often have them too - why not start with one of those and see if you like it?0

i would be inclined to go for the currys branded one - from experience the £1 dont last a week0

Hi,
if you have a Sky remote you can use it..0 -
I bought a cheap one (it says 'Vivanco' on it) for my ageing TV (also a Samsung as it happens) where the remote failed after many years. It's been pretty good; I think there may be one or two functions I can't get any more but almost everything works and certainly enough to be usable.0

I use two which came with separate Humax boxes. They work very well for me. Prior to this I'd tried the concept with Sky remotes but getting codes for various TV's and DVD players was very difficult so I finished up always having to use two or even three remotes because the Sky one didn't allow me to access menus/switch on and off or whatever.
I prefer having just the one. It's very interesting to note there are cheap ones out there which are effective too. I'll be bearing that in mind for the future.0 -
I have a One For All I got cheap in Maplins, it also has a remote control socket that means you can turn off TVs that do not power off and only go onto standby. I find it great and you can contact them if your item is not included in the list and they send you the tone to program it.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
