Lisbon in February 2014

I have just booked flights for 3 days/nights stay in February 14 (half term) for Lisbon.
Now I am in a search of reasonably priced hotel with breakfast (breakfast is a must as going with my 2 boys - 9 and 15 years old). I would love to stay somewhere centrally but also with a good transport links to the airport. I read somewhere a while ago that Lisbon airport has metro which takes you straight to the centre so there is not need to book any transfer. Can someone please confirm that?
And if you have any suggestions for a nice not very expensive hotel?
Thank you

The metro now runs from T1 at Lisbon, it's possible you will need a bus from T2 to T1 but that's no problem as when disembarking the plane you'll be put straight on the bus.0

Keep an eye of the weather.
Lisbon in winter is often wet and chilly.
I was there just over a week ago [not for very long], and it was overcast and cold.0 -
Perhaps Ibis http://www.ibis.com/hotel-directory/gb/europe/portugal/lisbon/lisbon-hotel.htm
There's no need to book transfers, plenty of buses, taxis and the metro from the airport.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thank you; I will look at the hotel. Does anyone know if Marriott hotel in Lisbon is accessible by metro/walking distance to the centre?2014 - Lisbon - February

Trip Advisor and Booking.com reviews should give you a good idea of location, and what's where...

I don't know what you are expecting, but central Lisbon has a number of districts and is built on a very steep hillside, If you intend walking ensure you start at the top of the hill!
Metro has limited coverage, but gets you to most places. There are plenty of buses and trams and a number of fenicular railways and lifts to get you up and down the hillside.
Baixa district is the main centre and the flattest part of the old city. The area around Oriente station is the more modern area, but you will need to catch a Metro.0
