Could there be read-only Attributes on the files?
(Right-click on a file and click Properties - is Read-Only set?)0 -
Couple of things to throw out there -
Are you demounting the drives before removal? Perhaps there are locks left on the files for some reason.
Are you using readyboost (I think that's what they called it) for memory-challenged Windows PC semi-swapfiles?0 -
Hi all,
I always use the "safe to disconnect" option before I remove the memory stick. The Files are,..or were open for editing. I had a chat with the chap leading the ICT & Computing course that I am doing & he told me that I would have to go into the registry of my laptop to remove write protect but this is risky as it could ruin the O/S of my laptop.
think it may be easier,.......& cheaper in the long run to buy an external hard drive & use that?
Thanks everybody for all of your help, advice & suggestions.0 -
Far more likely that the Maplin guy just made it up, people working in these type of shops tend to do that.
Strictly speaking the person was right at least about the sandisk vault, that is how they were designed, to have a limited amount of write and then go into preserve only mode. Pain if you don't know about it.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
