BT Freestyle 1025 Answering Machine

I think this is a long shot but can anyone help with this?
Several years ago I got a BT Freestyle 1025 Combined Cordless Telephone & Digital Answering Machine.
The Cordless Telephone was replaced a long time ago but the Answering Machine is still in place and working well. However I never changed the preset security code needed to remote access the answering machine and would like to do so now.
I've dug out my Freestyle instructions which state that the only way to change this preset code is via the handset which I no longer have
Does anyone have another way of changing this code? Fingers crossed and thank you
