Laptop has died so looking for a new one.
Been looking at a dell 15r or a Lenovo g700 , though are open to other ideas as well, also looking to get Microsoft office as well.

What do you need to do with your laptop and what is your budget?
Laptops don't just 'die'; components fail and are always replaceable. What's wrong with it?
Libre Office will do the same job as MS Office for free.No free lunch, and no free laptop

The laptop is about 4 years old and we will be getting it fixed at a later date for the kids to use.
Budget is about £500 and main use is Internet but I am a keen photographer so will eventually have photo shop and I am a crafter so do digital paper designing. Do play sims 3 and league of legends occaisionally.
My son needs PowerPoint and publisher for school , does the libre office do the same0 -
Get something with i5 / i7 and dedicated GPU.
I don't see the need of MS Office. Free Open office / Liber office will do the job
