Hi
I am sure I have seen some advise on here but unable to find it.
Applied to claim ppi back on dorothy perkins and debenhams cards, due to the fact I had a medical condition and also was not working 16 hrs at the time.
I have a reply back saying they can not up hold my claim as my medical condition would not withhold other claims for medical/sickness claims.
My husband (I was seperated) would be classed as bread winner so he would be covered for the work aspect of the claim and did not need me to work to claim this aspect of the insurance.
Also states that I had 30 days to reject the insurance and I had a telephone sales call to sign me up ,,which to be honest I can not remember..
I have rang them to ask for an explanation and also told them that I was separated going through a divorce at this time so he would not have contributed to the account. They replied that I would need to send in evidence of the separation and also evidence of NI contributions.
I know I am not getting anyway with them.... I have heard of people going to the underwriters
What advice can anyone give?
Sorry for the waffle !!:o

pre-existing medical conditions has to be something that makes claiming on the policy unlikely to work. i.e. a more serious illness. An pre-existing ailment only affects claiming on that condition and anything that arises from it. Not other things. So, severity of the condition is key.I have rang them to ask for an explanation and also told them that I was separated going through a divorce at this time so he would not have contributed to the account. They replied that I would need to send in evidence of the separation and also evidence of NI contributions.
They are asking you to provide proof. That should be fairly easy to prove from the date of your divorce. I dont know why they need NI contributions. Evidence of earnings is more important. So,a P60 from that period should be fine.I know I am not getting anyway with them.... I have heard of people going to the underwriters
The underwriter approach only works in a tiny number of cases and only when the seller has no liability for the sale. The seller in this case is accepting liability but rejecting your complaint. Although they are open to looking at it further if you supply additional information.
Supply the information asked. What advice can anyone give?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I have had my claim up held from Santander regarding dorothy perkins account got by £2200, although it took ages for the letter to come out, said it was posted but never came.
I then applied for my debenhams account and that has been refunded to although yet again waiting for the letter that was sent out on the 2nd April..I have chased this us and it was supposed to be reissued..funny how the cheques never turn up,when they say letter gone astray..
so pleased I perservered!:j0
