Removing CCJS

Hi there, I'm new here & looking for advice on removing CCJS from our file?!
Long story short, we had a dispute with Lowell who were chasing us for money that we had never owed! It seems Virgin originally were attempting to get us to pay money owed on a property we had long since moved from (even though we notified them on moving).
The so called debt had been sold & re-sold onto various collection companies & then Lowell! They were aggressive from the beginning (even though it had been over 6 years that the apparent debt was owed) & eventually sent someone to our door to serve us legal papers & court order! This was just before Christmas & we just had a baby - the horror!
I was convinced this wasn't right & that they had no leg to stand on so we went to court & the judge practically laughed when Lowell asked for more time to prepare their case! My husband stated they have had six years!!!
We won & the judge even asked if we wanted any compensation, he seemed pretty annoyed as this case was a total waste of time.
However this still left a black mark against our name in the form of a CCJ & we have tried to contact everyone we can think if to get this removed as it we were proven innocent in court so how can this still be on our file?
Can anyone advise us what we can do as it is affecting us buying another property even though we have good annual income & 20% deposit - plus our credit files are rated excellent!! HELP!

If you won then you shouldn't have a CCJ on your credit reports. Is one actually showing on them?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Yes we have been told there is one on there & it's due to come off next spring 2014 but its so annoying as we are trying to invest in another property & the timing is crucial etc?!
It seemed odd to us as well...0 -
By the way I couldn't log back in for some reason so had to change my user name & password!0

Very odd.
Regards the CCJ, you need to check your credit reports yourself to see if there is a CCJ showing.
CCJ get on your report by the court telling the Registry Trust to add it to the register of judgements and fines. The information on the register is then sent on to the CRAs.
If you have a CCJ on your reports then somewhere in that chain is an error. The courts may have wrongly reported that a CCJ was issued for example.
So check your credit reports, and then if there is a CCJ check to see if it exists on the registry trust site, and query it with the court involved. Then get whoever messed up to correct it. In addition while that is ongoing you can add a dispute to your credit files by telling them the CCJ shouldn't have been recorded.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Many thanks for your help & quick response. I will look into that, we have seen the CCJ ourselves & contacted Lowell & Virgin etc with regards to it but didnt know where else to go / try. Thank you0

If you have been to court and the ccj has been removed by the court then its the court that should have sent a notice of removal.
When I got mine removed I received a letter from the court showing it was to be removed from the register. Equifax removed within a month and I had to scan a copy for Noddle and Experian to get it removed from those which they did within 48hrs iirc0
