Morning all, sunny and bright in our little corner of Kent. Great night last night, ukulele and banjo band playing for Xmas song and old fashioned songs sing a long at a Xmas tree decorated lovely little church.

Just made st Delia's mincemeat and putting tree up later. Elf on the shelf has arrived, I expect he will get up to all sorts for our Aussie grandchild to see via Skype and photos.

Hugs to those that need them and my thoughts are with those in Glasgow.

  • Morning everyone

DS woke me up at 3 complaining of tummy ache, bought him downstairs and the sickness started :( He has gone half an hr without being sick so hopefully the worst is over....poor boy has only just got over a cold now it looks like he has a tummy bug, I'm sooooo tired so nothing much is going to be done today.

Wm is on and just about to shove the meat in the oven then that is me done, a day of relaxing on the sofa watching a few films I think.

Hope you all have a good Sunday ...((hugs)) for those that need them xx

First time I've sat down this morning & now hubby wants to go to get the water for the fish tank, aarrgh.
So far I've made breakfast, filled the oven twice cooking roast pork, fruit cake, jacket spuds, fruit crumble, rice pudding, chocolate brownies. When we get back I'll cook the roast pots & veg for dinner, I'd like to rest after dinner, but can't see it happening as I have washing, ironing & tidying up to do.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Afternoon All

Glorious day here, loads of washing out, just brought some in to air off, most nearly dry.

Been busy trying to pack the last bits and bobs in case it's soon, didn't realise how many bits and bobs needed packing and the kitchen is still to be finished. At what point do you think 's*d it' and pack everything?

Not much else to say apart from well wishes to all, tru - loving the carols as usual and sistercas for the advent calendar.
    Hester - slow down.
RR - Glad you are at last feeling better.

Enjoy Sunday everyone. Take care. XX

    Afternoon all,

cold and dull here. Not very nice to say the least.

'Youngest' has just come home from his all night party. Though he'd had a bit to drink he was able to post stuff on his facebook/instagram so he wasn't that drunk.

Not sure what we are eating later. I was going to do a roast but fancy egg fried rice of some description. We'll see.

Ive been busy in the house, he's been busy in the house/garden and I have one more job to do today. I want to do my hair. I'm not very happy. A few weeks ago I put a semi on my hair thinking it would eventually wash out but it hasn't and I'm left with grey roots. Looks like I've got to do the roots every 4-5 weeks now.

Oh well, its no good just sitting here, I'd best get on with it.

    Have a good evening all,

    Afternoon All,

My OH and I had a lovely evening out last night with 14 friends. Today is my OH's birthday :bdaycake: and I am taking the family out for a meal in an hour or so to celebrate. So she is having plenty of birthday treats, but there again she deserves it (for having to put up with me! :rotfl: )

Dreadful news about the helicopter crash in Glasgow and now today a serious train crash in New York. Why do these tragedies happen every year in the run-up to Christmas? Sobering times.

    Afternoon all

Cooked ham, cabbage and potatoes before 3 to feed DS1 before he headed back to London, OH and I had brunch while out for petrol. DS1 decided that he didnt feel well enough to eat, headed off to airport to return hire car and have hair of the dog before flight....was some wedding! Will have my dinner about 5 as nothungry yet.

Another damp day here, may prepare fruit for Christmas cake and pudding later, came across ready rolled icing the other day, so might even ice cake this year, altnough am making Nigellas boiled cake which she doesnt ice, Im sure that she will forgive me!

Happy birthday to all celebrating today, my favourite BIL is 75, but none of OHs family bother about birthdays....I think that its odd too, but each to their own.

Might do shopping for DD2 and granddaughters in London later, DDs birthday is on 22nd. We will havea big birthday party in February when DD3 comes from Oz.....her birthday is Feb and 4 grandchildren too, so hope that we can all betogether then.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday, see you all tomorrow

    RR glad your feeling better
    Sorry if I've missed anyone.

We've had ten for lunch to celebrate my sons Birthday which was Friday. Lunch was roast pork, roast carrots, parsnips, sweet potatoes, roast potatoes mash and broccoli with gravy. And pud was Chocolate fudge cake, with cream or ice cream, my sons favourite, hm of course and I got a big hug and a kiss as a thank you, wondeful:)
Mum and dad came along with DD and DGS and BF and youngest boy as well. It was nice but I'm pooped now.
Also our Christmas tree is up along with all the outdoor lights and hubby has out the fire. It feels so Christmassy and we have sat and watched Muppet Christmas Carol as well.
Hoping for a nice relaxing evening, enjoy the rest if your Sunday x

Just back from the family party that started at 9.30am - breakfast in the Toby, then down to the sea and a walk along to the pier where there's a view of the bay and lighthouse and amusements etc, buffet lunch in my parents' house (arranged by highly organised catering sister) and a silly afternoon of conversation and cake. I don't know about Mum, but I'm dropping! Lovely x
