OS Daily Sunday 1 December 2013

Options
OS Daily Sunday 1 December 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Now light, cloudy and overcast with a strange pinky colour in the distance - that normally means we're going to get rain at some point during the day.

DH and I up and enjoying a cuppa in peace - whilst boys still in their pits.

Dinner last night was roast chicken pieces, stuffed tortellini (sp?) in either carbonara sauce or creamy tomato sauce, dough balls and garlic bread - yummy really enjoyed. Lunch today will be roast leg of lamb, will do all the trimmings.

Yesterday we went to the garage and car is booked in for Wednesday to have the cat protection stuff fitted - they were cross with us for not going to them first as they could have sorted a replacement cat and then done the protection work in 1 go for much cheaper than we've spent - but we didn't know initally that cat protection stuff could be fitted. Never mind, it's going to be sorted shortly. We also dropped in to big hardware store to buy some replacement light bulbs, I haven't been able to buy them in any of the SM's in town - so bought several so I have a stock of them. We were naughty and had chips from the chippy yesterday lunchtime - was nice that I hadn't got to organise food in the middle of the day though!

Took the boys to visit the parents and outlaws. They wanted to see DS1, his bruises are now coming out.

We will just be chilling today - hoping that this next week is not going to be anything like that past week! Hoping I can now get to grips with DS1's birthday and the xmas prezzies - hoping I may get to next town next Saturday morning to finish off and buy the bits I went for last time that I couldn't get because they were out of stock, or hadn't got in.

    Keep safe and well x

    Happy Advent Sunday everyone :)

Today is one of my favourite Sundays of the year. I actually enjoy Advent more than I do Christmas. Weird eh?

I am so looking forward to church this morning. The sanctuary has been decorated with 75 Christmas trees, all been donated and designed by various local groups and businesses, for yesterday's Christmas Festival.

Between that and Evensong, this evening, it is a lazy, easy day. Although, I may wrap a few presents (if I can be bothered).

Dinner: Cider & Pork Sausages, Roast Potatoes, Carrots, Cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire Pudding and home-made Rice Pudding.

    Have a great day :)

  • Morning everyone :)

Church this morning, we decorated the house yesterday (minus tree) and I have my advent candles ready to start lighting today :)

After church we have a church Advent lunch :)

Roast Chicken, Yorkshire Pudding and Veg for dinner today.

Hope everyone has a great day x

    Morning all,

Been a bit busy the last couple of days. Friday night's surprise birthday meal for DH was really lovely. He suspected our two older children and their partners would be waiting at the restaurant (so he says), but he was overwhelmed anyway :)
Had a lovely morning yesterday having a nose around the shops, buying foody bits from the ethnic shops. I was trying to find an inexpensive cotton duvet set thats tumble dryable. Ended up buying one from ebay when I got home!

Off to a Candelight service at Aylesford Priory this afternoon, never been before but my mum's ashes are sprinkled there and they put her name in the Christmas rememberance book for a donation to the local hospice.

Dinner in the slow cooker for tea.

    Have a happy Sunday :)
  • Good morning everyone :)

My heart goes out to those affected by the terrible accident in Glasgow.

Grey and drizzly here today for the 1st December. I wanted crisp and bright. Maybe it will brighten up later.

Cold is still hanging around. DH is making himself brekkie but I don't feel like any so am going to finish my book while the washing machine is running.

Rosie rabbit is home with DD and GDD after her surgery but the vet says the next few days will be critical and after one tooth abscess, rabbits often go on to develop more. It's incredibly difficult to get her to take her antibiotics and she still won't eat anything. Poor Cherry rabbit is pining for her too so they keep having short spells together inside.

OK I have been away from my book for too long so back to Bring Up the Bodies!

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all,

An early wake up for me today, 5.30am :o I think I need to do the "wake to sleep" thing with Frog again to get her to sleep a little longer.

We are off to the high street shortly, need some parsnips and cheese of the roast dinner tonight - roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and greens :D we always have loads of veg and not so much meat.

Sister and BIL are coming over too so they can entertain Frog while I prep dinner, DH is the usual roast cook in this house so I have a lot to live up to! He's at work but should be home right in time for dinner ;)

I need to sit down and make a Christmas list, most of the presents are bought but just need to get the last few, have to ensure we haven't forgotten anything.

Hope you all have a nice day xx

Yay ! my 'Tru' advent calendar , I really look forward to this every year xx

    Morning all,

Today is the first day for 21 days that I have woken up and felt anywhere near good, the antibiotics are obviously starting to kick in, its amazing what a small tablet can do !

I think we are off to see my sis and her OH later, its his Birthday today, and my OH's tomorrow, its all Birthdays at this time of the year !

Not sure about dinner, it will either be roast pork here or something at my sisters, either way it will be tasty.

Have stripped the bed this morning and got that going in the wm.

My thoughts are with the poor people in Glasgow xx

    Have good days all xx
