I have searched but I am a bit confused still. I have worked for my employer for a year, they have recently employed another person in the same role, I'm i able to find out what salary they are on ?
thank you

No.
Depending on the employer, you might be able to find out what directors are paid though.0 -
Why?
You can be paid different amounts to other people as long as the reasons are not discriminatory in the eyes of the law (ie race, gender etc)
Plus, you have only worked for one year, you might want to be careful about kicking up a fuss as you have to do 2 years before protection against unfair dismissal.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Of course you can find out, ask them (the newly employed person that is).
If you haven't got the courage to do that then it's probably none of your business

Directors' remunerations are held at Companies House. For a small fee you can access this information, without their permission. You won't find colleague remunerations unless they can vote in the company via shares.0

Either you're happy with your pay and you feel as though it is a fair salary for the work you do; or you don't.
What other people are paid isn't any of your business, or relevant. I find it childish when people kick up a fuss only after they find out others are paid more.0 -
Don't worry what others earn OP, it might upset you.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Not quite, total directors salaries will be shown in the accounts as well as figures for highest paid director, but not details by name.
Shareholders salaries are not recorded, even employee shareholders.0 -
By all means ask, but be aware that in some companies it's considered gross misconduct to discuss salaries (your own or other people's) with each other.Signature removed for peace of mind0

But if you think a man is getting more for being male and you are female you can ask and they cant stop you
