Hi Everyone,
I just signed for a package for my wife from Yodel, as its coming up to Christmas I wasn't going to be nosey but it felt a bit light so it turned it over and saw the package wasn't sealed (the tape hadn't even been taken off of the flap) and the package was empty, I went back outside but the delivery driver had already gone.
Tried to ring Yodel but there website says offices close at 1pm on Saturdays. The package was from Wowcher so looked up the address on the label and tried to call them (Mail Workshop Main) but they are also closed.
Now I know I was in the wrong signing for something without checking first.
What should I do? Do I have a leg to stand on? Or have I made a Royal mistake?

Signing for delivery is just that. Signing to say you have received a delivery. It is not acceptance that goods have been delivered undamaged and in working order or with no items missing.
However I would keep hold of the packaging so you can show them that it was unsealed (and therefore on the balance of probabilities is lying somewhere - most likely the delivery van or depot). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
