Oh, that's good. Thanks for the help0 -
I looked at a different section of my credit report today under "closed account" and i found shop direct in it. The address on the account is where my dad, his girlfriend and step kids used to live, although i'm not sure about the door number but i definitely remember that road name. I can't remember clearly what year they moved out either.
Details on it are a bit sketchy because it says account was up to date as of June 2008 and then there was no account information for almost a year and then in May 2009, it said account up to date again and no payments were supposedly made until August 2011, which then stopped in March 2012. Account status "Settled" on 01.04.2012
I will have to ask my Dad about this but if Lowell was suppose to have bought the account which defaulted in 2010, how can it say last payment to shop direct was March 2012?
This issue popped into my head at 5am and then all sleep was gone.0 -
What is wrong with it is that some perfectly good advice is given on one forum and then some poor soul on the other forum spends 15 minutes providing substantially the same advice, totally unaware that you have already been given that advice.I decided to post on 2 forums for help. Not aware there is anything against that
Have some consideration for those you are seeking help from and don't make them waste their efforts. If you must cross post, at least say that this is what you have done. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

I think seeing multiple advice, whether it yields the same result is better than nothing. But thanks for the input0 -
I think your outlook is more than a tad selfish. Yes, multiple advice is better. But essentially, you are getting a free ride on the goodwill of others. So why throw that good will to waste? If someone knows their advice has been given, they may still spend 2 minutes to post to say they agree with the earlier advice and perhaps expand a little. But if they discover that they have just wasted 20 minutes on something which they later find has already been posted elsewhere, they are likely to feel more than a bit peeved off that you have wasted their time.I think seeing multiple advice, whether it yields the same result is better than nothing. are you sure your dad didn't take the account in your name, this can open a range of worms including fraudDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

So, according to you, i should pass up free help and advice when i need it? This is a forum for seeking advice, their terms and condition does not state "Advice should not be sort elsewhere". I am grateful for all the people that have taken their precious time and shared it with me and i am sure no one thinks of their time as being wasted. But again, thanks for the input.0 -
First Job is to log in to the MCOL website, but only do this via this link to make sure they are not trying it on.
Then enter your pass word and details and select Defend whole claim, this gives you 28 days from service of papers.
You MUST only deal with the court now, the debt collecters will fluster and lie until it runs out of time so they can get a default judgement.
Your dealings with them direct are OVER.
You now deal with the court only, even if they call or write refer them to the county court case and inform them due to confidentiality of defence they will have to await instructions of your intentions via the court.
Please Log in and do that now.
Once you have done that I can start looking at what they claim you owe and advise a way to defend it, but you will have to be very honest with me.
You will have to be prepared to visit the local court in your town, don't worry, they will be made to come to your court and if this debt is not your debt, I will instruct you to issue a counter claim for stress and harassment caused.
If this is not your debt, the counter claim has a very good chance of success and they will be begging on hands and knees for you to drop it, which you do not, they started it !Be happy...;)0 -
Well, people really are wasting their time on giving you advice, because you don't even seem to read what is written - or you twist it.So, according to you, i should pass up free help and advice when i need it? - No, I am not saying 'advice must not be sought' elsewhere
