W H Smith postage stamps yet to arrive

Hi all

Hope I've got the correct forum bit ... If not please move!

I ordered some stamps from Smiths with the 5% discount after reading about it in the newsletter ... Thought I'd save some money on the Christmas card posting bill :-)

They took the money from the credit card the day I ordered (21st November) but the order is still 'in process' ... Just wondering if anyone else has ordered from them and actually received their stamps?

Going to ring them on Monday and ask what is going on and is my money helping them with their cashflow? ... would like to be able to say whether others have received their order or not!

After ringing up customer services on Monday to be told they were being despatched to the branch that day, later that day I had an e-mail saying they were on their way. Customer services told me that, as I hadn't created an account when I bought them, I wouldn't be notified when they were in branch and advised I rang the branch first to make sure they're in. The e-mail told me they'd be available to collect within 10 days. Not sure the saving's worth it for all the hassle. HTH.

Thanks ... I created an account and have been checking it to see if they had progressed the order ... Then got struck by the norovirus:( and haven't bothered all week until the credit card statement arrived and reminded me ... That was when I discovered that the order was STILL 'in process' ....

Shall be onto them on Monday ... Bet they will say they are on their way then!

I ordered some stamps from W.H. Smiths and I have received them.

It did take quite a time for them to come but I realised that it must have been hard work and time consuming for them to put 4 books in an envelope and post it |||

Getting nowhere fast. Three lots of fifteen minute waits for the phone to be answered and then immediately hung up on. Another twenty five minute wait then put on hold while checked into and then hung up on from the hold situation. Sent an email now but as the website states that there is ten days from dispatch to arriving in the store I cannot see me getting these stamps in time for Christmas this year ... Wouldn't mind but they charged the credit card back on the 21st and I have now had to pay the bill to avoid interest so even if I decided to cancel I wouldn't get the money back in my bank account :-( harrumph!

Have you received your stamps yet? I ordered some the same day as you, 21st Nov, and I'm still waiting for them. Credit card was charged twice but the 2nd was refunded. I received dispatch email on 26th Nov to say they were on their way and would be received within 5 working days. Emailed WHS on the 6th working day but no response after waiting 2 days so rang them on Fri 6th Dec. On hold for 12 minutes before speaking to Claire, she told me demand had been very high and they had to wait for more stock and that my order was actually dispatched a week later on 3rd Dec by 2nd class delivery. Had to wait another 5 working days but still no stamps so I will have to ring again. I wanted the stamps for my Christmas cards but I'm going to have to buy more as I can't wait any longer!

Mine finally arrived in our local branch today ... However they had been sent loose rather than with my name on it so the branch thought they were just extra stock!!!

They also tried to only give me a quarter of the stamps I had ordered ... Thankfully I was able to pull up the order on my smart phone to show that it was 1x 4 books of stamps rather than just 1x a single book of stamps ...

What a palaver for 5% off .... I hope yours arrive soon

The stamp offer has been a complete c**k up and if they repeat the offer again I certainly won't be buying any more! I rang them again yesterday and was in a queue for 18 minutes before I was offered a full refund because of the unacceptable length of time that I have had to wait for my order. They said that the stamps had just been dispatched by 2nd class post and would still arrive :rotfl: and when they do I can keep them free of charge. This is the third different dispatch date I've been given and I'll be very surprised to see the stamps drop through my letter box after 3 weeks of waiting!

Yes ... I won't be buying again via Smiths ... You got a good result though if they are refunding AND you get to keep the stamps although even then it has been a lot of hassle!
