Currency Exchange- Nationwide members!

Just thought I would mention that if anyone needs currency exchanged I have noticed that Nationwide seems to constantly be offering a better rate and of course no commission charges!
I have been to Germany, Belgium and recently Malta. In my last example the whole of Malta offered a better exchange than at the airport at between 0.60 - 0.61. Whereas Nationwide (once I got in checked online banking) had been 0.63! without charges - and of course you don't have to carry too much cash so safer AND by not buying too much at the start you won't have to change much back.
Hope this helps!

This is commonly known - in fact their current TV adverts are publicising the fact that that their credit and debit cards levy no commission charges when used to pay in a non-Sterling currency.
Thanks for such an enthusiastic post, though! This space has been intentionally left blank0 -
Well I did think everything knew about the commission free but I would have thought they would make up their margins with poor exchange rates but wanted everyone to know it actually is better than you can get in most other places!
It was perhaps abit enthusiastic! lolHelp me to help you :santa2:0 -
I'll be honest, whenever I've been abroad and used my Nationwide cards, I'm still really impressed when I see the exchange rate on my statement.
Incidentally, the way other cards charge commission on foreign currency transactions is by adjusting the exchange rate in their favour by, usually, 2.75%. It does't appear as an actual charge on your statement so I guess a lot of people are totally unaware that they are being charged anything. This space has been intentionally left blank0 -
I work for Nationwide so i'm glad you are happy! Its always nice to see good feedback!
