You can stop them by pinching out the growing point any time you like and continuing pinching out the side shoots of course. You are pinching out the side shoots?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The guy who developed 'Gardeners' Delight' later improved it to produce 'Unidel,' which is much the same, but allegedly less susceptible to greenback. Anyway,I've grown it for years, but I can't find out much about it on the 'Net. Must've sold hundreds of the things to people who came back year after year, so it obviously pleases more than me. Perhaps the name didn't have the appeal of GD.0

Hi, use the nails of your thumb and forefinger and give a neat and precise pinch to nip out the growing tip. Use a pair of scissors if you don't have any nails.
Hope you get a mega crop. Try and keep some glass jars so you can preserve your own passata for the winter and save on those horrid supermarket bills.0 -

The side shoots grow just above the side leaves and look like miniature tomato plants, which indeed they are. When they get about an inch or so big, just pull them to one side and they should come straight off into your hands. Make sure you don't pull off the flower trusses, so anything that looks a bit different leave it for a while before you pull it off
You will soon get the hang of it. It can get a little difficult sometimes as the plant seems to branch not really giving you a good choice of which shoot to pull out, that comes with experience. Tomato plants grow so fast though, they can normally get through the fumblings of complete idiots................ trust meFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
talk about confusing
go to a garden center, buy two tomato grow bags and put your babies into them, position in a sunny spot and water daily, thats it, nothing else apart from a stick for support required when they get bigger, the grow bag contains all the food you need, nature does the rest, enjoy your fruits(i have 18 tom plants in my garden, not long to go now!)0 -
