Cat infestation, small insects with wings

Where my cat usually sits we found some tiny, thin, black winged insects, crawling around (didn't seem to fly though).
She was scratching a bit more than usual at time, but nothing to think there was something wrong.
We noticed some black and white dry specks as well that she leaves behind when she sits somewhere.
She is a short hair tortie.
Any idea what they could be? Is Advantage going to work?

Are they fleas?
Have no idea what has wings? but I would assume fleas must have some way of getting around so .....
If they are fleas then Advantage should work (was also told the dog version would sort harvest mites when Maisie had these in the summer but have no idea about the cats stuff)
You will also need to treat the house with something like Indorex - hoover everywhere, wash (hot as poss) all bedding etc (incl human stuff if she goes on your bed)

Fleas jump though. They don't have wings.
Certanly use some sort of flea control for her.Back on the trains again!0 -
Do you have house plants? They might be fungus gnats, which lay their eggs in soil and when you water the plants the larvae hatch. I have had them before and they hung around windows a lot - I couldn't get rid of them until I threw away my plants.
I would Indorex (or alternative) and deflea the cat. She might have dry skin due to the weather (my mums cat gets it) or she might be reacting to the bugs If things don't improve, bring her to the vets.0 -
We used Advantage and they died pretty quickly, the cat is now flea-free once again. And the house is cleaner than it was before

Not sure about the wings, maybe I imagined them.
Thank you for the advice.0
