Why was I declined?

My husband recently applied for a mobile contract with T-Mobile,he was declined. No idea why, so we sent off for credit ref files, and they arrived today. We cannot see anything on there that would give reason for a decline. We have a tiny (almost paid) mortgage, 2 credit cards that we pay in full and on time every month. Incidentally, the mortgage does not show on the credit reports, not does any search by T mobile.....we have lived at this address over 20 years and are on the electoral roll etc...any ideas??
Debt-free...and staying that way...

The thread title is Why was I declined? but then you say that it was your husband. Also you don't say whose credit cards you are referring to; yours or your husband's.

Is the mortgage in joint names and whose credit files did you check?

These things can affect the answers you receive here.

Sorry, slip of the metaphorical tongue! My husband was declined, we applied for HIS files, the mortgage is in his name, as are the cards-although I am a secondary card holder on the A/cs..clear?

I had problems with a credit check when I signed up with T-Mobile last year as the advisor I was speaking with input my DOB incorrectly. Could just be something like that.
  • Its just one of those things you have to accept.

    move on basically.
