Nissan Almera Timing Chain
I have just paid £674 to have the timing chain replaced on my Y reg 2001 Nissan Almera that has done 48000 miles. Having read various forums, it seems that Nissan are aware that there is a problem and are putting it down to poor servicing. I have a full service history for this car and am going to contact Nissan UK to see what they have to say. I'm not holding out much hope but wondered if anybody has been successful in receiving a goodwill gesture in the form of compensation from Nissan for this type of complaint. Any advice on tackling this grievance would be much appreciated.

It was a different complaint we had regarding poor repair on a windscreen replacement where they slit the paint leading to prolific rusting which they refused to sort out, HQ didn't help at all, though you should have more luck as there are more of you around to heckle them. I certainly would never buy Nissan again, good luck0

It's a common problem with the Nissan Almera timing chains. Just the links below.
I spoke to Nissan customer services on 01923 899999 but the guy said due to the high mileage on my car they wouldn't offer me any help.
I would never buy a Nissan again.

1.5 presumably?
Yes, this is a hopeless engine. But at ten years old you are very unlikely to get any joy from any manufacturer, service history or no.0
