If they do indeed say that your order is 'accepted' then that is at the very least a poor choice of words though. I'm not sure that it overrides the terms agreed to that say the contract is formed on dispatch, but its more confusing than it should be.
That's my point Mike. I know it's a play on words but this is generally the point at which a contract is formed. However, I am sure their legal team have discussed it but I am surprised the word 'accepted' is still used. On checking my online order status now it says 'accepted'0 -
I too placed an order for 2 of these tablets on Friday and received confirmation email at 7.30pm that evening to confirm despatch on Thursday 5th December.
However I received a call from 0800 316 0492 today, a lady from Very saying that "unfortunately the wrong price had been quoted online but that I could still purchase them at a discounted price of £249.99. I told her I wanted them at the price quoted on the website and she said they could not honour this.
Surely if they have accepted the order and confirmed despatch date they cannot go back on this.
On their facebook page they are referring everyone to 2.2 in their terms and conditions
2.2 When you submit an order to us on our website you will receive a 'bounce back' confirmatory email of this order saying that we are processing your order. You will then receive a second email from us acknowledging your order and giving you estimated timescales for delivery. You should check both emails for accuracy and let us know immediately if there are any errors. Neither of these emails constitute acceptance of the order by us. Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you. Title to the goods will pass to you on delivery.
Really need confirmation of where I stand on this as I will take this all the way with them if I think there is a chance of succeeding
Looks like we have no chance of winning with them0 -

Not when a despatch date is agreed or quoted.compaddict72 wrote: »Looks like we have no chance of winning with them0 -

Invitation to treat, and I agree its not abusing an offer, it makes sense to buy a few if they're a bargain.0 -

Sorry yes, invitation.0 -
Buy 1 it may get through if its a misprice. Buy 4 and they start looking and stop everyones orders
So everyone knows who to thank for abusing the misprice.0 -
I'm 50/50 on it, yes if something is a decent price, why not buy more than 1 or even 2, but don't take the mick.
Unfortunately when people abuse offers, then companies are less inclined to offer them. Or we see restrictions such as maximum xx per person or maximum limits on price promises.
Supermarkets now have restrictions in place, on price promises etc, due to some people quite frankly taking the p*ss.
Just because something is open to abuse, doesn't mean that people have to. Sure people say, sod em, these companies can afford it, but at the end of it all, the companies may lose out initially, but everyone else loses out in the long run.0
