scottish power

Hi I left Scottish power on Aug 6 a week out of contract but my final gas bill had a cancellation charge of £20.42 which they won't refund although they did with the electric. They continued to take £44 from my bank only for gas 3 weeks later on the 1st Sept & applied a £20.42 cancellation charge and refunded £36.94 .Tried the ombudsman sent all the details ask weeks later ''what's happening'' and they replied send us details [again] complete waste of space. Do I just give up and let them keep it?? looks like have no choice.

Scot Power wether by accident or design, (I suspect it's the later), have been wrongly loading customers Final Bills with Early Exit Fee's - Their excuse for this was that they had been notified of the change to a new supplier before their contracts End Date, when in fact the rule is that the date that counts is the actual day the new supplier starts supplying the customer.

Ofgem have actually warned SP about this and said they should re-imburse customers affected by SP's mis-interpretation of the rules - WRITE a letter headed Complaint to SP demanding a re-fund, and just to get your own back copy the letter to Ofgem and mark yours to SP that you have done so
