I thought it looked good until I dug a bit further. The cheapy dialler from the chinese sellers on eBay don't seem to have time of day functionality. The description on the site mentions it but it's just a cut and paste (note how good the English is in that section) of a description on a security site:
    http://www.enigmasoftware.com/threat-database/dialers/

There are a number of similar diallers here:

    The programming guide is here:

It keeps referring to "~du" - I think that means it provides a confirmation beep when it accepts a valid command.
There is no mention of time or day programming. Shame really but if you don't care about free weekend calls or whatever then it might suit.
Reading this signature is a waste of time

An elderly relative of mine stuck with BT purely because of the simplicity of dialling 18185 for mobile & calls abroad. It would be ironic if BT block 18185, she'd leave!
  • Hi,

It works perfectly, but there were some teething problems
    1) I had to email the seller for instructions, as they posted just the device without them
    2) When I did a factory reset to make sure it was clean, I found the initial password of 8888 isn't the default, so I had to contact them again for the master password.
    3) The default is to only route numbers starting with 0 or 1 through the autodialer, so I had to contact them a third time for advice on how to route numbers for the UK starting 44 via my access number

I would have liked to program it to intercept all numbers visitors might dial and strip off the leading 0 and replace it with my access number followed by 44 but it wasn't clever enough to leave the 0 in on 0800 numbers. So I've just left it that UK numbers starting with 01/02/03 will go through Virgin, and UK numbers starting 44 will go via my access number.

Also, markbloke is correct, there is no time of day programming, so you can't take advantage of any free weekend/evening calls you might have.

PS: As my VOIP provider is USA based my situation may be slightly unusual in that I have to start all UK numbers with 44

This device is perfect for my FAX machine - As I said previously I make all my voice calls using VOIP at prices ranging from 0.9p/min USA to 1.1p/min China mobiles with European landlines somewhere in between, so I dont care about any free weekend minutes from Virgin.
