I wa refused for the platinum capital one card - 4% cash back, not really sure as have never had a credit card before so cant have bad rating.
Looked at the american express 3% cash back, but need to earn £20,000 to qualify which i dont, so cant for that one.
What would be the next best thing for me,seems all the others i can find only offer 1% max.0 -
As has been advised previously I would go for the Egg money.0

Problem is, you probably don't have a good rating either - because you don't have much of a credit history to check.
Once you have a credit card, you will start improving on that rating.0 -
applied for as suggested and accepted for the egg money card, with the 1% cash back. upon setting up the debit card part I selected to pay off balance in full, on the 28th, does this mean I dont have to ever manualy make a payment and it will always clear the credit card automatically so I never pay interest?....which is obviously what I want.
thanks0 -
It's rumored that Barclaycard are set to offer 5% cashback in the near future. Someone will be able to confirm, I've no doubt.0

Yes but check after receipt of the card that this has not defaulted to minimum payment and if needs be change it back.
Welcome to the world of Egg.
I have had this card for 3 years now and have had no trouble at all.0
