Does anyone know whether it is possible to advertise a rental property on Right Move without using an Ea/Letting agent?:)
If so, how?
I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p

  • Doubtful. Is there a reason why you woldn't want to instruct an agent? Are you competent to carry out the referencing/draw up a tenancy agreement yourself?

How about using an agent on a tenant-finding basis only?

    You can't do it directly.

You can use a service such as these: http://www.propertyinvestmentproject.co.uk/blog/how-to-advertise-your-buy-to-let-on-rightmove/ although it's not much different to using an agent for tenant-finding only (in fact some of the entries on the list are exactly that).
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

A lot cheaper though! It's certainly what I intend to do next time. The tenant finding service was useless. There are plenty of companies you can pay to do the credit reference checks for you. You can also pay a one off fee to get a suitable tenancy agreement drawn up by a solicitor.
  • Why not try putting it on Gumtree?? I worked in a letting agency a while back and although our properties were on Rightmove etc, we used to put them on Gumtree too.

We would get lots of responses that way via phone/email. If you want to do everything yourself (tenancy, references etc) worth a try as it free.
  • There's quite a few online letting agent type things which get you a Rightmove listing - makeurmove.co.uk I think does different packages and one is either free or very cheap. If you literally just want your house on Rightmove what about asking an agent if they'd list it for you for a reduced fee? Introduction only type thing, might be able to do a deal?

Ad in the local paper works well round here.
  • You can't advertise directly with Rightmove or Zoopla, but you can use an on line only letting agent. They will basically take the calls and forward the message to you to arrange the viewing. You can then do your own referencing or they will try to sell you their referencing package.

The costs are dependant on the package you take with them.
