Auto Lock Old Threads

Why doesn't MSE have an auto lock facility that if a thread has not had a reply within say 90 days, the thread is locked?
It would stop people bumping hugely old threads:

As far as I can see, threads are autolocked if they have not had a reply for 2 years.0

As far as I can see, threads are autolocked if they have not had a reply for 2 years.
I personally think it would be much better if they were autolocked a lot sooner than 2 years. Although I think 90 days is too short a period, I do think either 6 or 9 months would be infinitely preferable.0
