Debt relief order and rebuilding credit

Good morning,
I was issued with a DRO 1st May 2012 after being in debt management with the CAB for three years prior to that.
All sorted not and complete, happy days.....almost.
I have no interest in credit, however the world has different ideas.
My job involves time away and expenses, which after being paid out are claimed back and paid back to me two weeks later. With hotels and car hire companies requiring credit cards, it is becoming a pain as well as a financial stretch only having a debit card.
Now as much as I really don't want credit or a credit card it looks like I may have too. So my question (finally
) is how do I rebuild my credit score and get a card after a DRO?
The DRO was completed 30th April 2013. I have read something about a credit file clean up. Don't know what that is or how to do it or if I need to?
Thanks,

A credit file clean up is to get copies of your credit files and to check that all information is correct after a DRO or bankruptcy (they often are not).
You need to check that all your debts that were included in the DRO show a nil balance and that none of them have default dates after the date you entered a DRO.
Do you have any credit accounts at all at the moment that show on your credit file (e.g. a mobile phone contract or anything)?
With your DRO being so recent I am not sure if you would be likely to get a credit card, however if you did it would be at the subprime end of the market. Once you have checked your files and done a clean up if necessary then you could try applying for a subprime credit card. If declined I would wait another 6months and try again.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
