Getting travel insurance after being referred by doctor.

My partner has been refered to a specialist for some tests. Nothing serious but needs checking out. This was nearly two weeks ago and have no appointment date yet.
We have booked a holiday and today rang up for the insurance and thought best inform them of the situation it they have told us they won't offer us cover until an result has been come to by the specialist. Rued somewhere else too and seems quite standard. The problem is by the time we get an appointment, tests and results could be after the holiday!
Any idea what we can do?

Not really advisable to go there without full medical insurance in place
It won't be easy with undiagnosed conditions to get off the peg cover .
See if a specialist broker can help. Not a recommendation, try medicitravel and see if they will quote.0 -
Do you know what sort of ballpark the issue is?
You could get a policy that simply excludes pre-existing conditions as long as you are 100% sure that the issue isnt going to cause any problems. Getting cover for an undiagnosed issue is next to impossible, particularly if it is potentially something serious0 -
Thank you all for your help. We managed to find someone who would insure us but without the existing condition but the worry is that something could flair up meaning treatment is required while we are there. Although it is quite a minor problem. We have decided to cancel the holiday which we was already considering doing anyway as my partner has also lost her job recently! So maybe for the best anyway.
On the plus side Virgin have given us a voucher for the deposit if we want to re book at a later date so postpones rather than cancelled:)0
