Can anyone tell me how long they usually take to get in touch?

Rather than start a new thread I found this one instead.
How long would you expect to wait for a survey to be completed on your house? How long from paying for it would you expect it to be completed?

I know this isn't very helpful but I would say it depends on the survey company!! If there is a problem I would say get in touch with the surveyors yourself.0

Just recently had survey done on house we are buying and aslo had done on our house that we are selling.
Both very different.
They dont do survey until payment for survey has gone through, so this may affect things if you pay by cheque.
The survey that we paid for was arranged and carried out within 4 days.
The survey that was done on our house by our purchasers took about two weeks to happen, from the point we were advised that we should expect a call. I have a feeling they had some sort of prob with their mortgage though, so this could explain the delay.
Our estate agent seemed to think at the time that generally surveys took place within 1-2 weeks of requesting one.0
