Hi
the situation is. Im taking our cheque for a deposit tonight to the solicitors. The estate agents then want to exchange tomorrow.
We originally had a completion date of the 29th June. But my partner is away on business till possibly the 1st July. I don't think they are very happy about this but I cannot complete without him!!. Whats involved incompleting. Can we complete and the estate agents hold the keys until he gets back so it pleases the vender but we both get the keys together. or is there more to completing than this? i don't want to annoy the vendor.
?? this is all new to me and i'm a bit panicy on my own without him.

Why does your partner have to be there to pick up the keys? Surely you can do that on your own?
I'm assuming you are only buying and not selling and so actual moving in can be done later when it suits you.
Obviously if you can't really move your stuff in straight away, you would be paying mortgage for a few days without really be able to do anything with the place. Is that the issue?
As a conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful but I accept no liability except to fee-paying clients.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0
