The quality of posts on this topic hasn't half improved immensely over the last day or so.:beer:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

I see you have added a note to the Scottish voters profile.
>Note: The 'I live in Scotland' vote started rising rapidly late Monday evening. Most of the additional votes were 'yes' (beforehand, 'No' had been winning). Our suspicion is there's been an email/social media campaign to get 'yes' votes - so please take this result with a pinch of salt. <
Why does it matter that people were made aware of the poll on social media? This would have reached YES or NO voters in all parts of the UK so your comment doesn't make sense. People who intend voting NO can also be asked to give their opinion via social media. Presumably individuals aren't going to lie about their voting intentions - that would be pointless. Certainly NO voters would not put themselves as YES voters so your comments about taking it with a pinch of salt really doesn't look very professional. The msm have been transparently biased in how they report the independence issue and this looks like you are responding to a vote you don't like...0 -
As you can all see I've been a member of this site for a good few years and guess what I voted Yes in this poll and what's more I live in Scotland , my question to the "admins" of this site is how do you know that it was Yes people that newly joined so they could push the Yes vote up is it not quite reasonable to assume that more people would be visiting your site at night when not at work hence the increase in the voting . When we get our big Yes vote in 2014 and become an independent country in 2016 you can eat your words admin0

I live in England and want independence from Scotland ASAP. But please Scotland, whichever way the vote goes, will you promise to stop banging on about it.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

I'm English and have lived in Scotland for 2 years and am therefore eligible to vote next year.
I love Scotland and think its a great place to live, but I have no plans to vote next year. I'm going to leave the decision to the Scots who are more passionate than me about the vote.
However, I am hoping for a 'no' vote. Why is that? It is called my own ignorance, as I don't really know what it will mean for me. I know what the current setup means for me, but I don't know the impact of a 'yes' vote.
Could my house lose value? Will I pay more tax? These and many other questions are hard to determine as most of the information published are filled with political bias from both sides. I could do some research myself but I'm not inclined to do so.
My hope for a no is based on nothing other than 'the devil you know' if you excuse the phrase.
However, I will say 2 things:
The people here are actually friendlier than many I've experienced in England and with 1 exception, I have been welcomed in this country with open arms.
I totally agree this is not an anti-England vote, but instead a pro-Scotland vote. However, I know many patriotic Scots who intend to vote no due to doubts as to whether it would be best for them.
I also accept that the circles I operate in do not represent an accurate cross-section of the population and therefore is not something that necessarily represents the likely outcome0 -

Novel concept, one party in a four party union wanting "independence" from only one other, and even more strangely the one funding it,
But then again, economics is an irrelevance in the land of a little englander (who is nothing at all like a normal English person), but people often take this as folk seeking Scottish independence as "hating the English".
Would you like anything else explained?0 -
@rich987652
It's entirely your choice whether or not to vote.
However, things will change whatever the result. Don't be fooled - a No vote is NOT for the status quo. There's already plenty evidence that things will be different, and depending on your point of view, those changes might not necessarily happen with the best interests of the Scottish population in mind.0 -
What is wrong with coming on here to register just to vote in this poll, I only found out about it tonight, do the Better together lot think we should just sit and say nothing. Bet if this poll read the other way it would be the most up to date accurate poll ever. To use football terminology "your only singing when ur winning". All the Better together currency nonsense, EU joining nonsense has all been proven to be just that Nonsense this week so you have to find some other Rubbish to try scare mongering with. I will of course remind you, the Majority of Scots voted for the SNP in the last Scottish government elections, the same majority will vote YES in 2014 and a lot more.0
