Insurance Occupations

I could say I have various 'occupations' as I do various jobs! Anyone have info as to which categories of jobs are 'cheaper' than others, without me having to get comparable quotes off websites? For example, would a creative job such as graphic designer be cheaper than a management role?

There's a whole 'tool' available on this site to do this, if you look for it0

There is a free MSE tool:

Curious to know how they've created that tool.... of all the rating tables I've ever seen never have they been that granular in their pricing for jobs0 -
One insurer may have had lots of claims from graphic designers so charge more than a management position.
Unless you try specific companies with each role then you wont know how it will affect the premium.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

In theory this is true, but again, I've never known anyone analyse loss ratios across all of the 400 or so ABI job titles let alone every permutation of job title and industry. All the companies I have worked for have grouped them fairly broadly hence surprised that the tool shows me a different price for every single possibly suitable job title of which many I couldnt differentiate as a job anyway0 -
I took mortgage insurance some time ago and was told my premium was more expensive because I am a butcher-sharp knives and all that, I was told that I was up there with Miners and Trawlermen. If I had been an office worker I would have had the lowest premium.
In fact , upon passing her driving test, my (then) 19 yr old Daughter insured a 1400 cc motor fully comp. for a bare thousand quid. Why so cheap for a new driver? She is an office worker.
